INNOVA was formed by seven professionals in the Health & Welfare administration services practice. Our staff has a combined 130+ years of experience in benefits administration. We are credentialed.
Mark Sommers holds degrees in Finance-BBA and Law-JD and is admitted to practice in both Ohio and California. He has 30 years of experience in actuarial and benefits administration and has served as a consultant to hospitals, universities and corporations on employee benefit matters. Mark has been a senior consultant on projects which have included the creation of full modular flexible benefits programs. As Managing Principal of Parsons, McKee, Sommers and Company (1991 until 2000), Mark directed this regional actuarial firm and grew the practice to 45 staff. More recently, as an officer with a large life insurance company, Mark has managed its H&W practice, as well as defined benefit and traditional defined contribution retirement practices. Mark is committed to excellence in client servicing; innovation in improving client and participant experiences and adding value to new and existing benefit programs.
Carol Manson earned a B.A. degree in Business Administration from Grove City College and has 28 years of experience in Health & Welfare administration, including design and consulting, and compliance. She specializes in the areas of Flexible Benefit, Qualified Transportation, and Heath Reimbursement Arrangement administration as well as COBRA administration and compliance. Carol has managed a Health & Welfare practice serving over 5,000 participants and has assisted in the implementation of many new technologies, including debit card services. Carol is a Certified Cafeteria Plan and COBRA Administrator.
Cheryl Solinski has worked as an employee benefits administrator for the past 19 years. Her first 10 years in the benefits field were in pension administration while for the last 9 years she has concentrated exclusively in Health & Welfare benefits as an account manager. Her expertise lies in a wide range of client care and support. Cheryl has an associate’s degree in business. Cheryl is a Certified Cafeteria Plan and COBRA Administrator.
Craig Renteria holds a B.S. in Finance from Santa Clara University and is currently pursuing a Masters in Business Administration from San Jose State University. He has over 10 years of professional experience with the last 6 years in the Health & Welfare industry. Craig has an in depth knowledge of Flexible Benefits, Qualified Transportation and Health Savings Accounts. Craig manages Innova’s sales and marketing efforts while continuing to develop and support customer relationships. Craig is a Certified Cafeteria Plan Administrator.
Kathy Bowles has a B.A. in Economics with a concentration in Business Administration from Santa Clara University. Kathy has 5 years of experience in Retirement Plans and Trust Accounting. She has 16 years of Flexible Benefit experience in the design and administration of Health & Welfare Plans. As well, her focus includes consulting with both current and prospective clients, conducting client enrollment meetings and assisting in company marketing/sales efforts. Kathy has managed a Health & Welfare team serving over 150 clients. Kathy is a Certified Pension Consultant HW-1 Cafeteria Plan Fundamentals and a Certified Cafeteria Plan and COBRA Administrator.
Margaret Loria has more than 30 years of experience in the accounting and employee benefit services fields. Having spent 14 years in the pension and insurance industries, the transition to Health & Welfare administration was a natural fit. Her experience and knowledge has enabled her to assist in the consulting and design of Flexible Benefit programs for many clients. Her dedication to personalized service has proven beneficial to her clients and their plan participants. Margaret received her accounting degree from Robert Morris University and she is a Certified Cafeteria Plan and COBRA Administrator.
Tricia Loanzon holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz. For the last 10 years as an account manager, she has a thoroguh knowledge of Flexible Benefit, Qualified Transportation Plan, Health Reimbursement Arrangement and Health Savings Account as well COBRA administration and compliance. Tricia is an integral part of both flexGuide development and leadership team responsible for executing a strategic growth plan. Tricia is a Certified Cafeteria Plan and COBRA Administrator.
